SOLUTION CAN NOT CONVERGED

Greetings,


I am doing a fluent study on the tail types that UAVs have on Fluent. After entering the mesh settings in the attached style, I added pressure-farfield as a boundary condition around the inlet, outlet and enclosure in Fluent. After selecting the turbulence model k-omega, I changed the solution method to density-based. After measuring the Y + coefficient value 134 after the first analysis, I repeated the solution accordingly. At the same time, as the flow type in the solution steering section, I first selected subsonic flow and then incompressible when I did not get a result. 


My question is, while there is a converge state when solving on the inverted-v tail, I cannot get a converge state when doing this on the T-tail. Do you have any solution suggestions about this?

condensation and humidity simulation

Hello all,


As a newbie to OPENFOAM software, I'm actually trying to redo the simulation from the article (Simulation of Moisture Ingression in Microelectronics Package to Correlate Accelerated Tests and Field Conditions Reliability). The authors used Comsol software for this simulation. I was curious as to whether this was possible with OPENFOAM.

NACA 4412 study case

Hello 
I have some questions about the NACA 4412 case file provided in cfd support study cases:
1- how to set the simulation for other meshing (structured ones) that I did using block mesh please.
2- Trying to run the case without making any change gives this error. I tried to solve it many times without success. any suggestion on how to solve it especially for the solver related ones (rhomin....)

Problem with compilation wmake

Error openFoam 20.09

I am using OpenFoam 20.9 for Windows 10.When i run the motorBike tutorial - no problem .If i use my own stl file which i have used many times on all OpenFoam platforms i get the error u will see in attached file. Once decomposePar has run going to snappyHexMesh those errors show. Also when simulation run the stl file lOpenFOAM for Windows 20.09 (v2)

rhoSimpleFoam convergence

Have you got any advice or sample files (fvSolution, fvSchemes) for getting rhoSimpleFoam to converge please?


I'm running an aircraft case at Mach 2.0, using rhoSimpleFoam, with freestream BC in the far-field.

The whole solution becomes very oscillatory, even though initial convergence looks ok. I am using relaxation factors and limiters that have worked for me before.  I have used rhoSimpleFoam many times before for supersonic applications, but this time I'm having difficulty.

Recently I am trying to install and configure Openfoam-9 source file on RHEL operating system. But I could not able to install it successfully. So I need your support to install this OpenFoam-9 on RHEL operating system. It is very urgent, so please if it possible to schedule a Zoom or WebEx meeting to fix this issue.


I have already installed these below listed OpenFoam version RHEL-7 and RHEL-8 OS and it is working fine.

Post-processing's manipulations and variables' meaning

Hi everyone !


It's my first post here and I have a few questions on post-processing's manipulations and on variables' meaning :


1) How can I get the surface areas of the components' interfaces on TCAE (Paraview interface) or in the calculation case's folders ?


2) The TCAE user manual indicate that here are 2circumferential angles : the axial and the radial circumferential angles. To analyse my data, I need to extract the radial circumferential angle. However, withe the option 'calculateAngles on' in .../stationary/system/interfaces.fun, I only get one circumferential angle : circAng. How can I know which one is it (radial or axial) ? Or a mix of both ?


3) How is the mass flow rate calculated on the interfaces, with the absolute speed or with the flow speed (the radial speed for the mass flow at the outlet of a centrifugal impeller for example) ?


I hope someone will be able to help me on these topics... Thanks in advance !
