I am trying to add heat transfer model in MPPICFoam, however my limited knowledge in advanced openFoam could not crush it. 

Mainly I am trying to replace kinematicCloud with ThermoCloud. 

I am trying to simulate heat transfer between continuous phase and discrete particles. Can someone please provide any insights on this?

What is the meaning of the option "Add volume source" in scalar (Multiphysics). Is the source volume linked to an inlet patch or can it be also inside the computation volume?

i have installed Cygwin in my computer to compile fortran code and it work fine. i want to first know if it is possible to run Openfoeam with Cygwin as it is a linux interface on window system and if it is possible, help to how we can do it.

We are looking to perform CFD calculations with OpenFoam of a large sea area (volume of around 1km x 1km x 200m) around a single offshore structure or ship (estimated size of around 100m – 200m, with small elements of around 0.3m).

We expect our cases to run in the range of 10 to 100 million cells, depending on the size of the structure. We think most cases will be at the lower end, so we want to size our hardware for it, but still be able to handle the larger ones even at the expense of much longer calculation times.

I recently downloaded OpenFoam for windows from the CFD support download section and the installation went effortlessly. But when I tried to run the cavity simulation following the CFDSUPPORT training pdf, I faced the  bash: blockMesh.exe: command not founderror. The frustrating part is I managed to get it running yesterday and finished the cavity test case, but today I cannot recreate what I did. In the installation folder, there are bash files in the D:\OpenFoam\20.09\cygwin64\etc and D:\OpenFoam\20.09\cygwin64\opt\OpenFOAM\OpenFOAM-dev\etc  I think the error is related to sourcing the bash file. But I am not sure as the training documents mention for windows the sourcing is done automatically.

Please help me out here as I am an absolute beginner in using OpenFoam or Linux environment. If anyone can provide the steps common to all simulation set-up and starting the OpenFOAM, I will be more grateful.

I have the following request. I would like to make a simulation of the flow of a high speed train wich reaches a closed end for my bachelor thesis. I want to do it in Openfoam. The reason why im asking this question in this forum is because the video is from the CFD-Support Youtube channel. In a Youtube video from you with the following title Train in Tunnel Passing Sudden Cross-section Change - CFD OpenFOAM® simulation with the follwing URL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gyr8Y7I16KA a similar problem was shown. Is there a possibility to learn more about it? Some more Information about the dicts of the Simulation would be highly appreciated to build my simulation.

Hello all. There is a rectangular domain 20x40x12 m with a weak spring of the benzene vapour. The aim is to model the dispersion of benzene at the absolutely calm atmosphere (but with non-zero turbulence). I have tried a huge number of BC but failed with this task, because of the weak air currents that appear near the boundaries and at the corners. Their speed is about some centimeters per second but they are killing the process. Instead of descending to the ground (benzene has the density of 3,14), instead of penetrating through the boundary, instead of leaving the domain the benzene vapour goes up and curl and wirl ans so on. Please share your experience and help with a hint as of how to construct absolutely calm atmosphere. If it would be windy atmosphere or powerful spring of the vapour there would be no problems. I try to model free convection inside vertical cylindrical container with elliptical bottom end. I cannot find how to calculate heat and mass fluxes (or flow rates) through horizontal plain, which divides elliptical and cylindrical parts. It is not a physical boundary, just a geometrical figure. For meshing I am using GMSH 4.8.4. Could someone help me please.

Hello everybody 

At the moment I am doing a heat radiation simulation with the viweFactor model in OpenFOAM 8. It is about modeling the solar radiation on a mirror and reflecting it to a plate, I am not using the solid domains but I am modeling only the air domain. My problem is that I don't know which are the files or directories that I need to model the radiation with the viewFaxctor model?

Could you help me with an example, so I can develop my case study?
